confused?

hello faithful readers,

you've probably noticed by now that you've been redirected to this new URL "www.furnishedphotography.com." i am in the process of getting my website ready for publishing, and there are a few different steps that i have to follow before it can actually happen, this being one of them. so welcome to my new site that still looks the same, but will very soon have an all new look. :) i'm excited about it, and i hope you are as well. oh, and you may be wondering, "what's in the name?" i'll explain it all once i launch the site.

i remember my first nikon coolpix camera. i knew i liked it, but i don't think i knew where it would lead me in the future. my name is katherine fallis and i'm a photographer. here are some things about me:

• i am passionate about people.
• i see things in angles and lines.
• i am simple.
• i wear rainbow sandals almost everyday.
  
• i like to make people laugh.
• i enjoy taking pictures.
• i choose to read non-fiction before fiction.
  
• i think very realistically, but am learning how to cast vision.
• i want to be more of a risk-taker.
• i am thankful for life.

about four years ago i found myself in a place of decision. i had recently shot some engagement pictures for a friend of mine and felt a passion for photography within. could i do this more often? with encouragement from friends and family (and a lot of other things coming together), i began this business - furnished photography. thank you to all of you who have boosted my confidence, listened to my frustrations, taught me about post-processing, answered photography questions through email, helped me to gain somewhat of a business mind-set, let me take pictures of you just for fun, and so much more. none of this could ever be happening without your help. and i mean that. i appreciate each and every one of you.

sweet annie AND an announcement.

annie, a good friend from home, and her husband brandon agreed to a maternity shoot at wrightsville beach a couple of weeks ago. i'm trying to build my portfolio and was desperate for some preggo shots. they were the perfect pair for what i wanted in the shoot and i couldn't be more excited about how they are turning out! thanks annie and brandon! :)

and before i go, i know, my blogging has been awful. i apologize. i've been shooting a lot, and editing a lot, which leaves only a little bit of time for my blog. i don't mean to neglect it, but i think that since i'm working on a new blogsite that will make its debut in september (YAY!), i haven't been as into this one as i probably should be.
